Wordless Wednesday: Snow Throughout The Day

  1. It's beautiful . . . from afar.

  2. I know it's a cliche, but I always love how it freshens everything. I'm not sure this snow is going to be as pretty when it gets here (too mixed with rain), but I'm glad we'll be getting a little more of it.

  3. Wow! That snow is beautiful! Makes me want to curl up with a cuppa and a good book ;) Of course, I wouldn't like to deal with all that snow, so I'm with Kathy - its beautiful, from afar.

  4. All of you who have said it is pretty from afar make me laugh. Most people feel that way even wherei live (outside of Chicago). But whether it's because my husband shovels it, it my Beetle drives easily through it, I love the snow! We walked in the twilight last night, out boots almost buried in powder, and it was so lovely. Just how I imagine Narnai to be.

    1. Surprisingly enough, it was not cold at all! Wet? Yes. But not cold, it was perfect for a walk (as you can see my husband and our sweet dog in the third picture).

  6. These pictures are absolutely beautiful! I hope you are (or were) safe and sound, snuggled in at home.
I adore a big snowfall in the country or in a backyard, park or garden. Here in the city it looks enchanting for all of about 2.5 seconds! Unless it's a huge snowfall of over 12 inches which, unfortunately, doesn't happen often!

    1. I think this may have been 12 inches total. At least that's what was predicted to fall. My class was full of stories this morning over what they did during yesterday's Snow Day; many made Snow Angels, built forts, shoveled and went sledding. Others simply sat by the fire with their books. Hmmmm, who's their teacher? :)

  7. So beautiful and peaceful. I love it as long as I don't have to drive in it. (We are suppose to get something tonight/tomorrow) -- ENJOY

    1. If you were to drive in my VW Beetle you would not be worried. Those have never let me down, and I've owned, since my mother's car in the 60's to one in Germany in the 80's and the current one I drive now. Love them! Be safe on your event tonight.

    1. I think it's my favorite, too, because just as we were walking home it became twilight, and you could see the streetlamps illuminated through the trees. It made a lovely mood which is somewhat captured by the photograph. Thanks, Carol.

  9. Snow is my favorite. I love how it looks, how it sounds, how it feels. I even enjoy shoveling it and driving in it. :) Too bad for me I'm not living in it anymore, so thank you for posting pictures!

  10. A world away! Beuatiful photos reminding us that this is an amazing planet with amazing variances. I spent the day in the sunshine of my garden with butterflys and lizards sunbaking. How the world of blogging can make the world both big and small at once. Thanks for sharing.

  12. What beautiful photos - lovely to look at and long for, even though I was barefooted at work yesterday. I miss snow - even the troubles that come with it sometimes.

  15. Yay! You finally got your big snowstorm! :) We've had some here and there (and are due to get more tomorrow), but I'm ready for warmer temps so I can get out on my bike. We hit 60 yesterday, but I was struggling with a neck/back ache, so no riding yet. Lovely thunderstorm in the night and now it's gray and gloomy. Perfect day to curl up with my mystery!

FYI, Nan (Letters from a Hill Farm) has returned to blogging!!!

  16. Gorgeous! Probably annoying, but I'd love to see that much snow one day!

  17. Sigh . . . this California girl longs for a "real" winter. I've always prefered cooler weather than what we experience in my neck of the woods. I'm determined to wear my sweaters and boots through the end of the month despite the sunny skies.
