Even though the kitties were ready

to help take down Christmas, I was not.

I'm thinking that the origami I made from the printed word could quite possibly be snowflakes for January...

if you use your imagination.

  1. We never even put a tree up because of the kitten. She is in to everything as it is and we don't spend Christmas at our house anyway, so it worked out.

    1. Our kitties were so grateful we put up kitty toys (trees) just for them. I'm a little daunted by the breakage, but I still enjoy the sight of a lit tree at night while I'm reading. And to think I didn't even like cats once upon a time...

  2. Definitely! They're too lovely to put away too soon. And it sounds like you had some other snowflakes to go with them?

    1. Audrey, we had the most lovely snowfall on Thursday here in Illinois. It was such a strange Christmas without snow, I guess that's a part of why I didn't take down our decorations until Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! When the snow fell, I could finally sit by the big tree and feel Christmas-y. ;)

    1. Kittes are lovable...and hair-able...and ornament-destroyable, but I have come to love them.

By the way, Ally, I began a Donna Leon novel over the weekend, the first of her Commissario Brunetti books, and it's been a wondeful escape. I suspect I'll be reading for our Venice in February challenge long past February.

    3. I'm sorry that your weeks have been crazy and depressing. That makes me sad. I, too, hope that you'll be able to enjoy the challenge soon. (At least you'll be operating within the time frame! I got too excited and began early.)

  10. I say keep them up until Valentine's Day. I'm sure you can make some pretty red hearts and hang them on that little tree!

BTW, my first Venice selection is Donna Leon's Death at La Fenice! I'm so looking forward to this challenge!

  11. I don't always take down my Christmas stuff immediately. No need to be all conventional and put things away if you're enjoying them.

  12. BTW, your kitties are absolutely beautiful! You should post photos of them more often!

  13. Snowflakes, kitties, stars - three realities, one lesson. None is the same as the other!
