1. Potato salads and fried chicken -- the best food to take on a picnic.
2. Summer makes me chafed and irritable. I much prefer winter.
3. I just bought a sparkly pair of flip flops at Target for less than twenty bucks.
4. To love someone is often more of a decision than a feeling.
5. Walking down the Grand Canyon by myself was a long hike.
6. When I crave food, it's never from the vegetable group.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing Tender Morsels, tomorrow my plans include pizza with my family and Sunday, I want to bike the drive (where Lake Shore Drive is closed from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for cyclists. May the winds off of Lake Michigan be sweet to us)!

Great answers! How's Tender Morsels so far?
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to hear your thoughts on Tender Morsels!! I absolutely adored that book but it's always such a love it or hate it book with people. Can't wait to see which side of the fence you fall on :) Enjoy your weekend Bellezza!
ReplyDeleteok, have finally found a place where we differ....I LOVE summer!!! The hotter the better and I tolerate winter!!
ReplyDeletegreat answers this week!! #4 is very true.
Potato salad is great...Happy FF!
ReplyDeleteI - like you - prefer winter over summer, however, Fall is my fav! Enjoy your bike ride on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI am very much with you on 2 and 6. And have a great time biking the Drive—perhaps you will pass me on my morning jog along the bike path! (And hey, aren't those winds off the lake more of a blessing than something to worry about? At least in this weather)
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy a wind free day for your ride and that you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi DB. I often agree with you on No.4 however sometimes I wonder if it's OK to say that out loud... I hope your bike ride is very pleasant and relaxing. It's so much more enjoyable riding when there are no cars on the road. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeletePopped on over on a whim(liked the sound of your blog title) from the Friday Fill-in page at Blogger.
ReplyDeleteI was *almost* going to add potato salad to no. 1, and you know, your fill-in for no. 6 is true for me as well, now that you have made me think of that.
They'll bless me as long as they don't blow against me the whole four hours. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's better to be on a bike with no cars around, and in a car with no bikes around, n'est ce pas? I like taking my bike on the prairie paths best, but I've only ridden on Lake Shore Drive so this seemed a worthy endeavor. Especially for my mother, as it's her Mother's Day present. "I want an adventure," she told me, so here we are. ;)
ReplyDeleteChris, I should've known you'd be familiar with this book. It's bizarre, but wonderful in it's own way. More lucid thoughts coming soon, and I'll relish any of yours.
ReplyDeleteSara, say it isn't so: a difference between us? There was bound to be one sooner or later. So, it's a good thing you live in Texas (I think?), and I live outside of Chicago...especially in the winter!
ReplyDeleteGal Friday, I was entranced by your blog; such whimsy! Such freshness! Thanks for stopping by here.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to have to talk!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...pizza and biking here today as well. Just not on the Lake Shore, more's the pity.
ReplyDeleteIt was a glorious day, though :)
Target has the coolest flip flops! I tried to take a picture of the flip flop aisle, two months ago (yes, we had them in March) but it was a crappy photo and I had to delete. Boohoo. Summer definitely makes me chafed and irritable. I'm thinking that I need to find a place to live up north during the summers, now that our mortgage has been paid off. Maybe Canada. Doesn't Canada in the summers sound perfect?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the potato salad, but no so much fried chicken. Or winter!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to the Grand Canyon! I'll bet it was a beautiful hike!
I think you, Bookfool and I need to go in on a summer house in San Diego! It's gorgeous here! Why did I ever move away?!?!
I never knew you lived in San Diego!! My husband LOVES it there, but I've never been. I'm happy your having such a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI lived in the San Diego area from 1972 to 1992. We lived in Leucadia, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Tierrasanta, Santee, and Vista!
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should plan a book blogger trip out here!
