Friday Fill-Ins

1.  "You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me."  C.S. Lewis

2.  Fresh bouquets of flowers and stacks of books make a place feel like home.

3. Everything has its beauty in its own time.

4. My father loves the taste of strawberries and cream, so I make him a strawberry shortcake every Father's Day.

5. Art makes me calm if it's impressionism, but twitch if it's abstract.

6. LOL I just noticed I forgot to unpack my suitcase from last weekend.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to reading Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase  to discuss with Tanabata, tomorrow my plans include laundry and Sunday, I want to walk outside if weather permits!

  2. Your comment that everything has its beauty in its own time" took me directly to Bob Seger's In Your Time. I've felt for two years I wanted to do something with it, but I still don't know what it is. Nevertheless, this lesser-known song is wonderful.

  3. Linda, I've had friends from college who loved Bob Seger, but this song is new to me. I listened to the video you linked, and I think it's wonderful. I can see you writing something spectacular about it...as all your posts are. Thanks for showing me that song!

  4. I've never met a guy who doesn't love strawberries ;); perhaps us women are the ones who lean toward chocolate. Or, lemon. Lemon is my favorite fruit for dessert, if it's not chocolate, as in a lemon ice or a lemon tart.

  5. Which reminds me, I think I need to leave the link for it. I found it on a tea seller's site, as my own darn camera is busted! I so miss taking my own photographs. But, this is appealing in its simplicity, isn't it?

  6. Really? Hmm, I never realized that. As for chocolate, I tend to like it dark, which also works well with strawberries :)

  7. Especially if they're chocolate covered and accompanied by champagne!

  8. Yes, I love the tea pic and C. S. Lewis' quote. A walk outside is nice, any day,,, weather permits. But nothing like reading a good book indoor... you can do it in a snow storm.

  9. It also reminds me of the song "In His Time"... "In His time, in His time... He makes all things beautiful in His time..." How soothing, Eccl. 3:11

  10. That's the song I was thinking when I filled in the sentence, Arti! It was in the back of my mind, but it was there. I love it!!

  11. That is quite possibly why I love the snow storms of Winter so much! While every one's complaining they can't get out, I'm relishing the fact that I must stay in. It's like I've been given permission to read.

  13. Don't those five books look incredible?! I want to read them all Right Now. And, no, I'm not on Facebook. I am on Twitter, though, which I hardly ever use. ;)
