 1. It's cold and I'm grateful for that as I wrap up another year with no air conditioning in our elementary school building!

2. Mozzarella balls, tomatoes and fresh basil make Insalata Caprise.

3. My favorite health and beauty products are lipstick and perfume.

4. Going down the Wheaton Prairie Path on my bike for a nice long ride is my favorite sport in the summer.

5. Well, first of all my son has to pass one semester of Algebra 2 before they'll let him graduate.

6. The people I used to teach with; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was hard to believe I don't teach there anymore when I woke up.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to posting a review on Best Intentions, tomorrow my plans include bike riding and Sunday, I want to gear up for the last week of school before summer vacation!

  9. Sara, I can hardly talk about this without weeping. It's one half of Algebra 2 that he failed, and he was not allowed to graduate. My feelings are so complex, too much to reiterate here, but I'm just praying that he will pass this last time around. Really, with all my heart.

  13. Enjoy the bike ride. While your about to post on 'best intentions' it was my best intention to join my partner on the bike today, but it's raining. So now I'm blogging... I hope to get out to do a bush walk with friends and I'm going to help with a community garden on sunday. Your answer to #6 prompts much though for me... where are all those people now?

  14. Tamara, it's interesting you should pick that answer out from all the others...maybe dreams have special meaning for you? Most of the people have gone to other schools to teach; several have retired. It's funny how sometimes in your life you don't know the good you've got until it's gone. I look back on those early years of teaching, and faculty, with great nostalgia that only increases. Perhaps one day I'll miss the ones I teach with now, but probably not to the same extent.
