I Have The Cutest Cell Phone In The World!

My makie stickers finally arrived from Japan today. Instead of doing my usual Saturday tasks, I've been applying the stickers to my phone. Is it not charming?! I love it!

Even cuter is this darling note from the company, Strapya World. I'll recopy it verbatim for you here:

"Hiya :) Thank you so much for your patience!

Here you go ;) you finally got what you had waited for!

Please love the stuff and let us know if you need a help.

By the way, we really wish this new year, 2009, will be fruitful, hopefule &

fruitful for you. Many layoffs, salary cut and chilly winds & snow,

tough time's still been over here and it's so sluggish

Oh, but look! here you go! bright happiness with this tiny gifts. Bless You!"

I love the Japanese. Almost as much as Italians.

  1. Very cute! And, of course, we have the same phone. However, mine's red. :)

  2. Les, you have to know that I didn't pick the color of my phone, my husband did. I probably would have chosen red, too, to go with my lipstick! I didn't ask for a pink iPod, either; in fact my son said, "What color would you like, Mom?" (for Mother's Day) and I said, "Anything but pink." Oh well, it's the thought that counts.

  3. Those Japanese are just so darned happy! I love your phone! Just don't drop it in the toilet or in the pool, like I frequently do.

  5. Sandy, I don't use it enough to drop it anywhere dangerous. Maybe now that I've decorated it, I'll keep it around more. The Japanese do seem happy!

Chris, how about if I include some of these stickers for a Japanese Literature Challenge 3 prize? Now I'm finding the cool stuff!

  6. Very cute phone! I can just imagine me with stickers on my phone. My friends would think I lost my mind. lol I am not really big on 'cute'. ha ha!

  7. Kailana, I'm not big on cute, either. Once, a beloved of mine called me cute, and I just about smacked him. I'd like to think of myself more as "elegant", but somehow, these Japanese things bring out the playful side. Are you saying I shouldn't send you any makie stickers? ;)

  12. That note is darling! As is your newly decorated phone. I've been listening to David Sedaris read his latest book on my morning and afternoon drives and he has been talking about learning Japanese and being in Tokyo when he stopped smoking. His descriptions of the Japanese and their culture remind me of this stuff that you've posted.

I've been very out of touch lately, so forgive me for asking if I should know already, but do we have a Japanese Literature 3 challenge in the works?

  13. Carl, I can't quite explain this fascination I have with all things Japanese right now. I found this cool blog on Japanese subculture here (http://www.japansubculture.com/) which is really interesting. I'd love to go to Toykyo, and how it must make your time fly listening to Sedaris. I left a little note for you at the bottom of the Japanese literature challenge 2 wrap up, that if you'd resend me your address I'd like to give you a small prize. That offer still holds. It's looking like there's enough interest to hold the Japanese literature challenge for a several more times at least, from July to January. So, look for an announcement this summer.

  14. These day's we need our phones to be unique, they're really extensions of ourselves... Love what you've done. I'm a fan of the Japanese fun stuff - stickers, danglies, lollies, stuffed toys, etc. I only just lost my favourite phone danglie this week :( which I got in Tokyo 2007. I would love to see the stickers in the JRC3 prize box this year!

  15. Tamara, I'd have loved to see your charm from Tokyo! What was it? And yes, I'll certainly include some Japanese makie stickers in the Japanese Literature Challenge 3. I may even add some charms, too. ;)

  16. I love your phone. I need to dress up my DS as my mother in law has one the same colour. I think I will leave my purple phone as it is for now.
