This breaks my heart for you. For what it's worth, I know how you feel. And I hope your trip through the tunnel goes quickly and without a lot of scarring.
"The Love Letters" is a book that I first read about thirty years ago. It healed me from an enormously painful time when an important relationship to me ended.
This poem is found within its pages, as Madeleine L'Engle explores love and its many facets.
From time to time, pain over failed relationships raises its ugly head. The words in her poem always help comfort me...they force me to remember that I must accept what I cannot control, that love is often elusive but never absent.
Oh dear. Is everything ok? It's lovely poetry but your title is worrisome.

Sorry you're feeling down today. I do hope everything is OK and it's just the winter blues.
ReplyDeleteThe poem is lovely though.
I am with all above... I love angsty poetry that is hauntingly beautiful, but well that doesn't sound like the Bellezza I know.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful...Thank you for sharing it with us :)
ReplyDeleteMeredith, I do so understand this poem...Thank-you for sharing those words.

ReplyDeleteOh, no! Are you just having a bad day or is this about something deeper? I'm so sorry. You know where to find me if you need an ear!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful...very sad, to be sure, but beautiful nonetheless. Hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem. Sending you good thoughts and prayers across the ether...

Sorry that you are melancholy. The long dark nights of January can be that way. I hope that you feel better soon.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) I hope today brings your heart sunshine, Bellezza.

ReplyDeleteI have an award for you here.
Beautiful. I hope the lovely warmth of your vacation destination is restorative :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be back, even if it's to a high of 11 degrees F. :)
